Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Utility Technician is to skillfully setup, operate, and strike all Audio Visual equipment for both internal and external clientele.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Setup, operate, and strike Audio Visual equipment (audio, DJ, lighting and video) in a multitude of locations for internal and external guests.
  • Trouble shoot technical issues in a moment’s notice in a live environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance of technical equipment installed in multiple lounges and bars to ensure optimum performance. 
  • Must be able to handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
  • Complete billing transactions (suite, credit and cash) accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with technical specifications for events, purchases, etc. as assigned.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Audio Visual Department.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a live entertainment or technical environment.
  • A concentration in either Audio, Lighting or Video field(s) is required, programming is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of audio systems is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance; adhering to Venetian | Palazzo appearance standards.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to Venetian | Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.

Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke
