Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Supervisor - Laborer is to assist the Manager - Laborer. This position will work with and give direction to the Labor Team.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take over the responsibilities of the Labor Shop when the Manager is on Flex or not available.
  • Assist with distributing and following up on daily Work Orders and field supervision.
  • Respond to 402 alarms, emergencies, waterflows and leaks throughout the property: Venetian, Palazzo, Venezia towers, Venetian, Palazzo podiums, Sands, Congress Center, and Brookfield mall.
  • Ensure the weekly inspections of bladders, delineators and bollards around property are completed.
  • Ensure that monthly Work Orders are completed.
  • Assist in assigning Laborers in the Upholstery Shop, Casino Shop, Carpenter Shop, Gondola Shop, Mechanical Shop etc. when needed for certain projects, and oversee the work being done.
  • Assist in setting up requests for special events.
  • Perform job walks that will include the Labor Team to make sure they have the proper tools, materials, and the proper supervision.
  • Assist with work orders property departments and restaurants for removing or installing furniture, pictures, setting up pipe, drapes, cubicles, office moves.
  • Assist with recycling projects for the facilities department.
  • Maintain a current MSDS book.
  • Direct support to other departments.
  • Assist Labor Team with daily operations.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 2 years Laborer experience or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 year demonstrated experience taking the lead, giving direction and being able to distribute work to the team in an efficient manner.
  • Working knowledge and tools and power tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Maximo.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
