Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Sr Specialist – Talent Acquisition is to work as a liaison with specific departments to recruit, interview and place qualified candidates for open positions with The Venetian Resort.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Effectively recruits for assigned departments by conducting daily interviews and managing assigned requisitions.
  • Effectively recruits for positions up to and including Sr. Manager level. Sourcing outside the applicant tracking system is not required.
  • Holds intake meetings with department stakeholders to determine hiring requirements for assigned positions.
  • Maintain a positive rapport with all assigned department heads and managers.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all assigned tasks from department managers.
  • Partner with department stakeholders to improve candidate selection and interview process.
  • Assist with all advertising and creative recruitment needs for assigned departments.
  • Direct others in completion of a task or assignment. Render advice, and provide expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, analyzed or reviewed.
  • Partner with the recruiters and hiring managers to understand the hiring needs, build targeted sourcing plans.
  • Screen and qualify candidates for availability, interest level, salary range, relocation needs, and qualifications.
  • Develop and execute a sourcing strategy to include sourcing passive candidates through networking, cold calling, internet searches, social media, name generation etc.
  • Participate in team meetings and prioritize sourcing efforts based on priority levels of all open positions.
  • Professionally represents and engages candidates in career opportunities.
  • Update job knowledge and recruiting trends by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

  • Partner with the recruiters and management to update social presence across various platforms.
  • Stay up to date on current sourcing industry trends and changes.
  • Maintain the employment needs for assigned departments by maintaining paperwork for new hires, rehires and transfers.
  • Assess, evaluate and review data for organizing projects and/or providing direction on activities, tasks or processes in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Arrange timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Work on actual project or service to help achieve the objectives of the department.
  • Evaluate information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function.
  • Analyze data to drive sourcing decisions and support leaders with information to grow the business.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Control Board Gaming registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 3 years of previous work experience in a recruitment function, preferably in an employment role in the hotel/casino industry.
  • 3 years of sourcing and/or recruiting experience in a professional services firm, agency, or in-house recruitment team.
  • Previous experience recruiting and interviewing applicants, preferably in a hospitality environment.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of all rules, regulations and federal laws related to employment, including proper interviewing procedures and past experience completing I-9 verification forms.
  • Must be able to multi-task during daily interviews to maintain the right balance between recruiting for open positions and assisting assigned departments with daily needs.
  • Background in research and sourcing, including market research, lead generation, and social media.
  • Experience using a CRM and ATS, preferably SuccessFactors or HR Logix.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • A solid understanding of Boolean search string creations is desired.
  • Knowledge of Social Media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
  • Strong ability to create and execute against recruiting plan.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy, maintaining the highest confidentiality and professionalism on all matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
