Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Sr. Solutions Architect – Application and Infrastructure Automation is to design and automate solutions for both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure products, such as Azure, GCP and AWS within the enterprise. Utilizing a suite of products, the Architect will develop and support IaaS, SaaS and PaaS architectures in a highly automated environment. 
This role requires strong partnership with Corporate and property IT resources to implement strategic technologies and timely resolution across all business units. There will be strong focus in the areas of Azure platform optimization and evolution, automation scripting, Microsoft O365 and performance monitoring.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures.
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deploy new platforms and enhancements to existing and developing infrastructure, software, and services 
  • Define and implement the configuration of Azure PAAS and IAAS services and manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.  
  • Implement observability patterns using Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insights, and Log Analytics Workspace
  • Support integrations of the “Digital First” effort by providing automation scripting and platform integrations for Amelia AO.
  • Lead automation efforts in global projects that could include “Infrastructure as code” and other required solutions.  Create automation solutions that provide visibility/accountability on adherence to established standards and KPI’s via metrics reporting.
  • Provide continuous improvement to IaaS and PaaS and SaaS platforms, SQL environments and all aspects of cloud environment.
  • Develop and deploy automated processes and collections utilizing scripting languages for Amelia AO, O365, SQL, and other platforms
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, application developers, consultants and vendors to analyze business requirements, business specific scenarios, best practices, and then document, define and script processes that meet the business needs of the enterprise and are aligned and consistent with enterprise IT strategies and plans. 
  • Manage service/support needs with vendors, application support teams, and global internal teams through effective partnership, collaboration and communication.
  • Join forces with the broader IT security, risk and compliance organization to interpret policies and standards, ensuring policies and standards are properly followed by new and existing solutions. Maintain and define configuration as well as reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with other enterprise infrastructure teams to define standards and policies relevant to best practices, compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks and issues and escalate to management accordingly.
  • Work with business IT owners to gather information needed for automation integration with solutions. 
  • International business travel every quarter is required

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States 
  • Preferred: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • SQL architecture and management, O365 and Azure deployment management in a hybrid environment
  • Python, Power Shell, Azure CLI and other scripting experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies
    • Working in and managing a DevOps environment.
    • Planning highly resilient solution designs and technologies in a hybrid and full cloud environment
    • Expertise in implementing SQL in Iaas/PaaS platforms, data lakes, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI 
    • Expertise in Azure security and tooling concepts and implementation of products such as NSG/ASG, Firewalls, WVD, Load Balancers, etc. 
    • Privacy legislation such as: HIPAA, COPPA, FCRA, GLB and GDPR
    • Translating verbose business plans and translate into technical requirements
    • Service and integration architecture design and deployment 
    • Software interaction with databases such as DB2, Oracle, and MS SQL
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Multiple infrastructure/application technologies including, but not limited to:  UNIX/LINUX Systems, Wintel Platforms, Converged and Hyperconverged technology stacks, Enterprise Data Strategies, Middleware, Web services, Containers, and Application development platforms 
    • Design, planning, implementation and operational support for: Azure, Microsoft O365 Applications, Identity Access Management, and BI dashboards.
    • Identity strategies and application integrations including; LDAP, Kerberos, SAML
    • Network topologies, protocols and standards
    • Experience with Ansible, Terraform or related technologies a plus
    • Compliance regulations such as: PCI, GLBA, SOX, GDPR
    • Business processes and basic corporate finance, management and accounting principles
    • UML modeling techniques and Business Process Modeling
    • Hospitality and gaming business processes and industry constraints (Preferred)
  • Ability to think strategically in a highly complex environment
  • Ability to lead, influence and mentor others
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience. 
  • Must be ae to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
