Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis is to work directly with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to augment the daily operations of the FP&A department. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees multiple, simultaneous and advanced analytical projects which provide concise, accurate, actionable and strategic recommendations to The Venetian Resort senior management for both gaming and non-gaming areas.
- Focuses on automation and systematic reporting, utilization of advanced datamining / warehouse techniques, ad-hoc analytics and the creation of metrics/financial reports and dashboards.
- Provides the SVP of Operational Evaluation & Analysis with analytical support and data collection upon request.
- Member of Daily Operating Report (DOR) rotation, including preparation & distribution of the weekday/weekend DOR, month-end reconciliation and setting up next month’s DOR.
- Prepares special event post analyses and executes weekly special event revenue updates.
- Maintains special event summary database.
- Participates in the annual budgets and forecasting process and collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to optimize the Cognos TM1 application.
- Prepares and analyzes actual financial results with appropriate comparison to historical performance.
- Prepares reports which present prevailing trends and results; prepares recommendations to The Venetian Resort senior management where areas of potential improvement are noted.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understands & adheres to strict levels of confidentiality of financial and proprietary information.
- Extracts data from systems such as, but not limited to: Infinium, Cognos TM1, ACSC, Showcase, SAS, Agilisys property management, MICROS, Table Manager.
- Reviews data and ensures complete and accurate representation of relevant information.
- Provides data in a format normalized to current operations where possible, or alternatively provides commentary regarding differences due to business changes.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 5 years of experience in financial analysis, marketing or accounting.
- Demonstrated experience in direct support of Hotel and/or Casino operations.
- Working knowledge MS Excel (including a working knowledge of VBA and macros) and intermediate level database skills. Prior experience with Showcase, SAS, Infinium, Microsoft SQL, and Cognos TM1 preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to:
- Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.

- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.

- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
