Position Overview:

The key responsibilities of the Sr. Manager of Shared Services, Controller Finance, Chief Accountant, Finance Manager-- Joint Ventures and RTA will be to:

• Defines, collaborates, the area for financial accounting functionality to the best practice standards as defined by the industry or like-industry benchmarks.

• Enable and drive readiness mapping for future growth in the accounts payable function.

• Ensures appropriate standards of financial reporting are being adhered to on an ongoing basis

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Analyzes and revamps the accounts payable month-end closing process workflow and workload to create an efficient and standardized process and standardized balance sheet account analyses.
    • Leads team to implement and rollout appropriate software applications to facilitate if necessary.
    • Provides effective management and supervision to the accounts payable teams to ensure that they provide the maximum possible quantity and quality of service and production possible in response to the needs of their customers.
    • Be accountable for the effective and efficient sustainable execution of accounts payable operational and functional activities for which the position is specifically responsible.  Identify and develop continuous improvement processes for ensuring changes are driven through the business to adoption
  • Key Processes
    • Identifies and evaluates all accounts payable metrics used to manage the business and drive decisions.
    • Develops and implements plans to streamline accounts payable processes, avoid/reduce cost, and mitigate loss by using technology tools or other best known practices.

 

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5- 7 years in operational accounting/finance experience. 
  • Focus in Accounts Payable
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required, Masters degree or CPA preferred.
  • ERP implementation experience (Oracle, SAP, Infinium and / or Stratten Warren), preferred.  Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organization and analytical abilities.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and previous experience utilizing a financial reporting system.
  • 21 years of age
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in standard English in written and oral business communications
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Adapt to frequent changes in workload and be able to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate while completing tasks within established time frames
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with fellow Team Members, management, outside contacts, guest and the public
  • Ability to meet the basic physical requirements of an office environment including moving freely and frequently about an office, accessing computers and related technologies using peripheral equipment and operating other office equipment
