Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Sr Manager – eCommerce Analytics and Data Science is to develop actionable insights that will drive ecommerce knowledge and optimizations. This role will work with internal and external partners to architect and develop our digital marketing analytics platform, analytic systems and reports. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • General
    • Assist the organization in making data-driven business decisions across The Venetian and Palazzo digital touch points.
    • Support the eCommerce & Digital Marketing and Product teams with ongoing reporting and synthesizing analysis across the group to identify trends, uncover insights, and deliver recommendations to accelerate the online channel.
    • Lead the development and automation of descriptive and diagnostic reports and dashboards and the creation of predictive and prescriptive analytical models for the eCommerce department.
    • Utilize predictive modeling, campaign management and business intelligence tools to enhance and optimize all digital marketing efforts. This position will leverage the data warehouse and data lake including relevant information of customers needed for analytics and campaigns. Develop the long term data architecture and services roadmap for the digital business.
  • Architecture
    • Work with IT and/or corresponding internal and external teams to ensure the data warehouse and data lake has all relevant customer information, and manage the roadmap for information stored in various locations to be consolidated in a centralized in the data lake.
    • Support the digital marketing team in maintaining the data integrity and in developing and maintaining automated, self-service reports.
    • Develop and maintain the cross-property, real-time dashboard, relevant for senior marketing leadership.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ecommerce Analytics
    • Formulate recommendations to optimize online advertising, web site performance, email marketing campaigns and other acquisition channels
    • Partner closely with eCommerce Marketing and Product teams to drive ongoing reporting and synthesizing analysis across the group to identify trends, uncover insights, and deliver recommendations to accelerate the online channel
    • Partner with Revenue Management and Enterprise Analytics teams to proactively determine future inventory needs and to resolve under-performing campaigns
    • Analyze and develop site path analysis with emphasis on increased conversion and ROI
    • Manage promotional offer creation process and analysis
    • Suggest A/B testing scenarios and manage statistical analysis and reporting process
    • Act as key analysis resource for the direct FIT channel
  • Advanced Analytical Models
    • Collate and develop best practices on building, testing and deploying predictive models ranging from predicting customer value and trip frequency to imputing customer preferences and driving offer and marketing strategy
    • Managing creation of advanced analytical models developed by the Data Science team
    • Monitoring the results of advanced analytical models and develop triggers to identify when model performance is underperforming against criteria
    • Performing data visualization to explore previously unknown trends and relationships
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21+ years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent work experience in any of the following: Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering.
  • Previous experience producing metrics and analytics that describe what happened and diagnose why it may have happened (experience with time-series data and/or real-time data is ideal)
  • 2-4 years of experience working with data visualization, reporting & BI tools such as TIBCO Spotfire, SAS BI, Tableau and/or QlikView.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with advanced analytic and programming tools such as Tableau, Python, R, SQL, SAS, Visual Basic & Matlib.
  • Experience with SAS (SAS Data Flux, eGuide, CI, eMiner, Report Studio).
  • Experience with Tableau/R/Python/Java preferred; direct involvement in working with large volumes of data and building, deploying and measuring (a) predictive analytics models (i.e. SVM, decision tree, clustering, logistic regression, linear and non-linear regression), (b) test/control offers, and (c) real-time marketing rules.
  • Proven track record in applying predictive analytical skills to increase customer response and revenue.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and to proactively impact the business.
  • Ability to synthesize findings, insight and recommendations from data and analytics; superior cross-functional team and structured project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Application Architecture experience preferred.
  • Understanding/experience with the Google Cloud Platform/AWS and other Big Data solutions such as Cloudera preferred.
  • Experience in applying business automation and predictive analytics in the travel & entertainment industries or eCommerce preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
