Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Analyst – Finance Operations is to prepare and provide insightful analyses and offer recommendations to management.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver concise and accurate data for multiple, simultaneous analytical projects with the goal of creating efficiencies, increasing revenue, reducing expenses or improving controls.
  • Perform financial analyses of special projects, including the creation of complex data models and analytical output that adheres to department standards.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Implement strategies for gathering, reviewing and analyzing data requirements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Develop and communicate key conclusions based on project results.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget.
  • Identify potential risk areas and develop procedures and controls to mitigate those risks.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize requirements, create and maintain conceptual deliverables.
  • Detect inefficiencies by improving current processes and/or reporting.
  • Present conclusions to department and operational management.
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, Gaming and Hospitality industry preferred.
  • Superior PC skills, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel/MS PowerPoint/MS Word.
  • Strong strategic and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
