Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Analyst – Compensation is to perform a wide range of compensation functions, including administering compensation programs and administers the HR budget. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Processes requests for new positions by performing appropriate job description audit, job analysis/evaluations, and relevant research considering both internal equity and external factors to support competitive, cost effective and compliant positioning of compensation recommendations and decisions.
  • Administers the annual HR budget with respect to cost and headcount. 
  • Prepares all quarterly compensation submissions. 
  • Partners with the appropriate HR function (e.g., Management, TM Relations, Talent Acquisition, etc.) in the successful execution of all salary change requests, including promotions and transfers, to ensure they are within Compensation guidelines.
  • Partners with the appropriate HR functions to obtain finalized job descriptions by ensuring approved versions are catalogued appropriately and communicated to Talent Acquisition and Management.
  • Participates in approved local salary benchmarking surveys/market and best practice research, and analyzes appropriate responses as needed by managing the necessary research, data retrieval, computation, manipulation, analysis, preparation, review and submission of data surrounding total compensation.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of current and new legislation as it relates to best HR practices and generally accepted management principles.
  • Prepares compensation related ad hoc and scheduled reports and develops tools to support forecasting and planning. 
  • Ensures compliance with FLSA, DOL, federal, state and local regulations regarding pay and compensation.
  • Obtains guidance and interpretation of compensation policies and programs, and evaluates requests for changes and updates.
  • Documents methodology, assumptions, and decisions on compensation issues to ensure consistency of decisions.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and introduction of best practices.
  • Makes program recommendations to ensure competitive pay, retention and motivation.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resources, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • 3 years of experience in administering various Compensation programs; hospitality industry preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience identifying and completing comprehensive salary surveys.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing and implementing base pay, and cash incentive programs.
  • Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
