Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Cage Cashier, Level I is to perform monetary transactions for casino patrons, guests, and internal Team Members efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy, to include: redeem and sell casino chips, tokens, and slot vouchers for cash; cash guest checks; process credit applications and transactions; and record all transactions in compliance with internal controls and state and federal law. The Cage Cashier, Level I is also responsible for providing monetary services for other casino departments.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Performs all tasks to operate and balance an assigned bank or window according to Company procedure and policies
    • Counts, verifies the accuracy, and records cash revenue from various departments
    • Counts, verifies the accuracy, and records monies delivered by other Cage Cashiers
    • Counts and distributes cash, as necessary, to all departments
    • Redeems and/or sells casino chips and slot vouchers and cashes guest checks
    • Verifies that all information of guest credit applications is complete and processes credit transactions

 

  • Key Processes
    • Adheres to  and enforces all rules, laws, and regulations regarding Anti-Money Laundering, including but not limited to: Company Standard Operating Procedures and Internal Controls, Nevada Gaming Regulations and Minimum Internal Control standards of the Nevada Gaming Control Board; and federal rules, laws and regulations established by the Internal Revenue Service, including Title 31
    • Adheres to and enforces all rules, laws and regulations regarding underage gambling;
    • Provides accurate count for gaming table fills/credits and reconciles and verifies the accuracy of payouts and casino dealer tokes
    • Safeguards the confidentiality of guest information and Company data and information
    • Completes all necessary and required reports, paperwork and documentation with accuracy
    • Uses internal operating systems and equipment to verify accuracy of cashiering duties and record transactions
    • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age;
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board Employee Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy; 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a money-handling, banking, or casino cage cashier position handling large sums of money in a fast-paced environment with preference given to candidates with high-volume casino experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills with knowledge of currency;
  • Working knowledge of state and federal rules, laws and regulations regarding Anti-Money Laundering, including Nevada Gaming Control Board standards and IRS Title 31;
  • Proven efficiency and accuracy using a computer, 10-key by touch, and other electronic equipment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with casino patrons, guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • perform tasks with fine motor hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity;
  • distinguish and differentiate letters, numbers and symbols with accuracy;
  • lift, push, pull and carry a maximum of 50 pounds;
  • operate the coin mule;
  • withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction;
  • work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment;
  • work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke.
