Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Manager - Software Asset Management is to manage, monitor and control software assets through their lifecycle. The key deliverable is accurate asset register that can be relied on for a wide variety of things within the organization ranging from software licensing costs to enabling effective security incident response. This role will often collaborate with Systems, IAM, GRC and Legal to accomplish goals and objectives.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate asset register for named user, concurrent user and subscription software.
  • Ensure that software licenses are appropriately assigned, updated and removed in the asset register.
  • Maintain an authorized software listing and implement controls to prohibit unauthorized software from being installed.
  • Detect and remove instances of unauthorized software on a periodic basis to enforce compliance.
  • Detect and remove instances of unused software on a periodic basis to prevent overspend.
  • Run enterprise software license periodic true ups for: Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, VMware.
  • Collaborate with the appropriate internal departments to respond to external audits from enterprise software manufacturers.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Define standard operating procedures and guidelines to meet regulatory, operational and audit reporting requirements
  • Be a key contributor to company standards related to software asset management
  • Proactively plan for end of life and end of support announcements by software manufacturers
  • Evaluate new software requests to include procurement cost, support, and delivery
  • Liaise with Cyber Security and Legal to obtain software use authorization
  • Coordinate with Endpoint Security to prepare and deploy software
  • Engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Act as a liaison between the business, technology teams and support teams
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Company Standards of Conduct

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Excel, intermediate proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.
  • 4 years’ experience working in IT Asset Management.
  • IT Asset Management certifications: CAMP, CSAM, CHAMP, CITAD, CMAM preferred.
  • Experience using ServiceNow for IT Asset Management and/or Configuration Management recommended.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Foundational knowledge of ITIL processes – Incident, Problem, Change Management and Request Fulfillment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ITIL processes related to essential duties – Asset, Configuration Management and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI).
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
