Position Overview:

The responsibility of the National Sales Manager is to develop and manage large group business opportunities/accounts (801 + peak rooms) that align with meeting company’s financial goals, maximize revenues and drive customer loyalty.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Meet and exceed quotas and financial goals set by Management
    • Effectively solicit all existing, prospective target accounts and qualify (leads) that meet defined business parameters, resulting in closing contracts through effective contract negotiations that align with meeting company’s financial objectives, maximize revenues and drives customer loyalty.
    • Develop and maintain account base of business through outbound efforts and customer relationships which maximizes revenue for Company.
    • Qualify and respond timely to incoming assigned leads and follow through on commitments.
    • Implement sales action plans and follow through for the development of designated market segment.
    • Partners with customers to understand their buying process, identify multiple key meeting influencers and roles within the process to effectively cultivate the account.
    • Partners with customers to understand key meeting priorities and effectively position and align properties unique insights and benefits to customer key priorities to close business.
    • Understands the overall market competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand and how to sell against them. 
    • Understand customer economic trends, industry trends, regulations and potential new business opportunities.
    • Ability to clearly communicate and articulate ideas externally and internally at the account and opportunity level that are innovative and supported by reliable data.
    • Accurately forecasts and reports sales pipeline.
    • Ensures that business is turned over properly and in a timely manner for quality service delivery. 
  • Regularly and independently engage with cross-functional departmental leaders and teammates to understand product and services available to Convention groups and how the Hotel differentiates itself from the competitive set.
  • Travel and participate in sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, networking events, training (as assigned) midweek, evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Support other members of the Sales Team as needed.
  • Manage effectively within the defined sales roles, internal sales processes and departmental/Company policies and procedures.
  • Key Processes
    • Document all pertinent daily Sales activities, cataloging account and client information accurately as defined by department SOP’s.
    • Effectively work within the structure of the defined Sales processes to effectively evaluate and execute sales contracts. 


  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Required; High School Diploma or GED, 4 years professional Hotel Sales experience at a luxury property.
    • Preferred
      • 2 years of experience selling large complex group business, either at property or sales office
      • 4 year college degree
      • Knowledge of property operations

  • Must be 21 years of age with proof to work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires working varied shifts, evenings, holidays and weekend travel and networking.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc.
  • Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing.
