Position Overview:

The responsibility of the Manager - Leisure Sales and Marketing Accounts is to develop, promote and contract leisure frequent individual traveler business within designated accounts to maximize hotel occupancy/revenues and average daily rates. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian and The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed goals and financial goals set by Management.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Leisure Sales and Marketing to develop and execute sales and marketing plans including occupancy recovery programs that align with financial objectives throughout the year.
  • Identify, negotiate and manage new Partner contracts and marketing opportunities as approved by Management.
  • Develop, execute and manage Partner contracts, terms and conditions, changes, co-op marketing and sales programs in order to maximize market share and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Travel and make presentations throughout target markets to desired Partners and agencies to ensure Venetian|Palazzo products, rate codes and offers are well known by agents and accurately displayed.
  • Communicate updates, changes and offers related to Venetian|Palazzo and partnerships verbally and in writing as needed internally and externally.
  • Manage effectively within the defined sales roles, internal sales processes and Company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Accounting department regarding Partner account issues such as: no shows, payments, Letter of Credit issues, etc.
  • Regularly and independently engage with cross functional departmental leaders and team members to develop and coordinate tactics.
  • Manage and delegate tasks/responsibilities to the assigned Leisure Sales Coordinator to ensure highest level of account service business and support.
  • Effective time management skills in a fast paced somewhat stressful working environment.
  • Extensive travel and participation in sales calls, site inspections, fam trips, entertainment, networking events, training (as assigned) midweek, evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Support other members of the Leisure Sales Team as needed.
  • Other project and business development activities as directed by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education Bachelor’s Degree or Business School Degree with concentration on Business, Marketing, Hospitality or work related experience
  • Experience - 2 years previous experience in 5 star/luxury market, hotel sales, event mgmt. or hotel operations.
  • Strong communication skills, utilizing English both oral and written form
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Time Management and Organizational Skills
  • Customer relation and interpersonal skills.
  • PC proficient in applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Power Point. .  Previous experience with Synexis, HBSI and Sabre preferred
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Established relationships with account decision makers preferred.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires working varied shifts, evenings, and weekend travel and networking
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc.
  • Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
  • Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property.
  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
