Position Overview:

The Manager - Enterprise Data is to serve as the point of contact between IT, and various analytics business units at The Venetian | The Palazzo in the construction, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, any associated data marts, and any required integrations.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage data procurement projects to bring new systems of data into the data warehouse. 
  • Work with IT and the various analytics teams at The Venetian | The Palazzo to define and prioritize data-related initiatives associated with building, enhancing, and managing the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the business units in establishing KPIs and other metrics to incorporate into the EDW.
  • Assist in QA and UAT processes to foster an agile development cycle.
  • Determine business logic for KPIs.
  • Query the source systems through SQL, SAS & GUI to audit business logic and the EDW.
  • Work with the business to identify pertinent data within existing sources and conduct in-depth audits to ensure their accuracy.
  • Work with the business and IT in identifying and providing access to new & external data sources that enhance reporting and analytics.
  • Work with operational teams to validate data taking into account policies, procedures and guest experience
  • Build data project roadmaps for the business units, develop monetary impact estimates for data enhancements, regularly report on progress and appropriately manage expectations and timelines
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s in IT, engineering or business-related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 3+ years of experience working with relational databases. Experience in either a project management or DBA role preferred.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages required. SQL, SAS, C++, Oracle, R acceptable. SQL & SAS experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, prioritizing work across multiple teams, managing expectations and competing priorities, effective communication with all levels of an organization (senior leadership to front-line)
  • Working knowledge of financial and IT terminology. Knowledge of casino and hospitality data preferred. Experience with ACSC, LMS or other casino and hotel management systems preferred.
  • Experience developing data warehouses preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
