Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Manager - Business Intelligence is to develop best practices and recommend data-driven strategies related to various marketing and operations initiatives. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Executes the roadmap for metrics that are tracked and automated with corporate marketing Team Members and property counterparts.
  • Manages the business needs in conjunction with IT to ensure proper access to internal data sources for use by the BI and analytical tools.
  • Works with the business and IT in identifying and providing access to external data sources that enhance reporting and analytics.
  • Develops automated, and in some cases real-time, marketing reports and dashboards that help marketers focus on what is important or what are outliers that require action.
  • Derives insight from the analytics and communicates insight narratives to senior leadership and peers.
  • Trains and coaches property counterparts in the full use of the BI tools to maximize its benefit.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Helps The Venetian Resort evolve their direct marketing strategies to achieve maximum response rates at optimal reinvestment rates, and to drive engagement and wallet share.
  • Works with Relationship Marketing and Casino Administration partners to incorporate property-level insights into actionable information and reporting.
  • Monitors results of marketing campaigns at the campaign & patron level and develops best practices and improvement action plans.
  • Manages the production of advanced analytical models that have been developed by Casino Administration.
  • Monitors the results of the production advanced analytical models and develop triggers to identify when model performance is underperforming against criteria.
  • Performs data visualization to explore un-hypothesized trends and relationships in the data.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 4 years of experience with producing metrics and analytics.
  • Experience in gaming, travel, entertainment, or marketing preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in casino customer experience as well as innovative loyalty techniques.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization, reporting & dashboard tools such as TIBCO Spotfire, SAS BI, Tableau and/or QlikView, and advanced analytic and programming tools such as Python, R, SAS & Matlib.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
