Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Manager – Documentation is to lead, establish and maintain a document management process, as well as implement a document management system capable of meeting regulatory, quality and company requirements for records retention in a hospitality and gaming environment. This position manages departmental documents, leads standardization initiatives, establishes document review policies and procedures, and provides training on the documentation management system, standard template use and delivers technical writing expertise for IT teams. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for document change control, technical writing and review. Documentation requirements will include, but not be limited to IT policies and procedures, software/hardware configuration documentation, design history files, customer communication, audit results and deviations.
  • Ensures accuracy by reviewing documents for completeness, proper authorization and system updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure timely implementation of the document management process. Identifying procedures, policies and the like that need to be standardized.
  • Support audits (internal, external, 3rd party) in order to verify that regulatory and quality documentation requirements have been met.
  • Assures that all IT personnel are adequately trained in the principals, policies, and procedures of the documentation management system.
  • Develops, maintains and regulates the document change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into released documentation.
  • Responsible for procedure reviews and facilitating procedure updates with process owners.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 3 years of document control experience.
  • 3 years of prior supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the fundamentals of Technical Writing and Documentation Management.
  • Working knowledge of drawing and drafting using computer aided drawing software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
