Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Legal Assistant is to function as the principal support for the VP – Senior Associate General Counsel & Data Privacy Officer and provide support to members of the Information Governance, Privacy, and Cyber Security team as needed, including ongoing support with program and project initiatives for the Company’s Information Governance, Privacy and Cyber security programs.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain department records in accordance with the Company’s retention and classification policy and records management standards. 
  • Assist with submitting contract requests as needed for the Information Governance, Privacy, and Cyber Security teams.
  • Assist with managing the Company’s privacy management platform, including user and role management, and coordinate with the Information Governance, Privacy, and Cyber Security team to maintain the platform in accordance with specified requirements as appropriate.
  • Assist the Data Privacy Officer with managing and tracking data subject or consumer right’s requests using the privacy management platform.
  • Assist with managing and maintaining policies and standards reviewed, updated, and published via the Company’s policy management platform.
  • Assist the Director – Information Governance with running periodic reports to ensure proper recordkeeping of box storage requests and to identify boxes eligible for disposal based on retention requirements.
  • Liaise with department representatives responsible for Information Governance and Privacy to gather necessarily information for various records management and privacy related initiatives. 
  • Draft and prepare legal documentations for executive signature and/or notarization as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for members of the Legal and Cyber Security department as needed, including answering calls, managing calendars and schedules, timekeeping details, flex requests and approvals, office supply orders, and other administrative tasks.
  • Process related administrative details in order to keep department operational and effective while achieving results of projects assigned.
  • Possess skills to expedite clerical processing, evaluate information, and implement or take action based upon information.
  • Exercise discretion and judgment based on available information related to projects assigned.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of office administration experience required. 
  • Experience working in a legal department preferred.
  • Notary preferred or willingness to become a notary preferred.
  • Familiarity with Ariba contract management system preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.  
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience. 
     

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
