Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the IT Financial Analyst is to assist the Senior Finance Manager IT in providing historical and forward-looking IT financial analysis relating to monthly close and annual budgets. The IT Financial Analyst will also be providing support to Project Managers with respect to processing PRF’s (Project Request for Funding) as well providing analysis of actual costs being booked to projects. The IT Financial Analyst will be proficient with The Venetian | The Palazzo Financial Systems in order to pull various information for analysis. The IT Financial Analyst reports to the Senior Finance Manager IT. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with Project Managers to manage project budgets in the prescribed LVSC methodology and ensure accurate budget v. actual reporting.
  • Assists Project Managers in reconciling the monthly checkbook by providing analysis as  requested
  • Monthly close process, GL review, accruals, reclasses, etc.
  • Assists IT Team Members in completing and processing PRFs
  • Obtain appropriate electronic approvals for requisitions, invoices and other supporting documents
  • Provide assistance in budget preparation, forecasting, financial analyses
  • Performs financial analyses of special projects and other related duties as assigned.


Key Processes

  • Assess, evaluate and review data for processing requisitions. Follow up on requisition status and report on a regularly basis,
  • Consolidate and disseminate project data on monthly basis to Project Managers and provide detailed analysis of costs as requested.
  • Work with Senior Finance Manager IT to provide support and analysis during budget preparation and forecasting cycles.
  • Work on actual project or service to help achieve the objectives of the department.


Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • 3 -5 years of work experience in financial analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution required.  Major in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of project accounting methodologies.
  • Must have extremely strong PC skills, knowledge of Stratton & Warren, MMS, Infinium and Ariba, Cognos, and MS Excel/MS PowerPoint/ MS Word.
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.
  • Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
