Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Engineer – Surveillance is to provide installation and maintenance of all surveillance systems.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety-related position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of all Nevada Gaming Regulations pertaining to surveillance Systems.
  • Communicates with outside contractors, creating designs of surveillance systems and cabling securing bids for services equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge of all future technology in the areas of Surveillance and is responsible for self-training on all technology within the Surveillance Department.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical School degree in Network Maintenance, PC Maintenance, or CCTV Maintenance preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 4 years of experience in surveillance equipment installation.
  • Demonstrated experience in all manners of surveillance systems including CCTV, networking, card access and alarm systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and equipment manuals. 
  • Working knowledge of Bosch, Surveillus, Cisco and Genetec.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of all electrical systems, low voltage systems, surveillance management software, card access software, network design and installation, including programming skills for all components of the Surveillance system. 
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures for high and low voltage.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to be on-call during off hours to provide repair maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Work safely in heights from 8’ to 75’ above ground.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
