Position Overview:

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The role of the Systems Engineer III is to <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">role is to <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">design and deploy system solutions to meet the requirements of <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">core organizational functions, as well as evaluate and recommend technologies required to meet those requirements. 

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  •  <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Manage a queue of work requests to meet service levels and KPI objectives.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Design and deploy new platforms and enhancements to existing infrastructure, software, and operating systems.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Review technical requirements, establish project milestones and tasks and determine level of effort estimates for their completion.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Deploy and maintain Unix and Microsoft Servers, Storage Arrays, VMWare infrastructure and related technologies.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Troubleshoot and repair complex computer system issues for Servers, Active Directory, VMWare, application services and end-user issues while working within an enterprise environment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Conduct research on system platforms, architecture designs, services, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the enterprise computing industry.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Establish and implement policies, procedures and technologies to ensure security and integrity of the enterprise compute environment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the organization’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Perform all work in a manner to ensure interoperability and maintain compliance of enterprise computing systems.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Implement solutions and test performance, capacity and prepare and deliver performance statistics and reports.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Respond to emergency system outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans, assisting other departments as required
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provides recommendations to senior or executive IT management regarding product/vendor selection, technology evolution, and design strategies.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Effective collaboration skills to work with business partners, architects and technical peers to ensure reliable integration of systems and software for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Understand and abide by Incident, Problem and Change management processes and procedures.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provide root cause analysis and develop and execute corrective action plans for resolution of complex technical issues related to platform and service performance disruptions
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop effective disaster recovery plans and high availability design strategies, and document and test these capabilities on a recurring basis.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Interact with vendors, peers, and contractors to ensure secure, reliable systems implementations and upgrades are performed within project parameters.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Consistent and regular attendance including on-call availability on a rotational basis, is an essential function of this job

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 21+ years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS or similar technical program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 5+ year’s demonstrable experience in the design, implementation, and support of infrastructure systems, applications, and related technologies.
  • Demonstarted experience with Microsoft server operating systems, Active Directory, Linux platforms, VMware and related technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing high availability solutions such as: clustering, data replication, dynamic resource allocation, and related procedures.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment (MICS, PCI, SOX)
  • On-call availability on a rotational basis is a requirement of this role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory as well as the complexities surrounding large scale, multi – forest deployments
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.
  • Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
