Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Engineer II - Test Automation is to develop and implement automation scripts and frameworks for effective automated testing of software applications.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze risk identifiers and software problems and research new technologies to create and maintain complex automated testing suites.
  • Collaborate with QA Engineers and Software Developers.
  • Identify efficiency opportunities or operational failures and socialize them with management.
  • Analyze test cases, scenarios, and scripts to verify that the software meets the product owner's specifications.
  • Implement test strategies and criteria for testing by leveraging automated testing best practices.
  • Work within a highly collaborative environment where developers, testers and the business work together as a team to deliver the best possible software.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create, enhance, extend, and maintain test automation libraries and frameworks.
  • Design and develop automated functional, regression and performance test programs or scripts based on libraries of re-usable test code modules or functions.
  • Escalate issues which affect productivity and quality promptly.
  • Build clear, concise, and complete test-related documentation as necessary.
  • Write automation code to facilitate effective use of automation frameworks and accomplish regression testing.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 3 years of Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience.
  • 3 years of experience developing with scripting languages (Jscript, JavaScript, VBScript, Perl, PowerShell, etc.). 
  • 3 year of experience in T-SQL or other similar tools to build database queries.
  • Experience with HP ALM and UFT.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Quality Assurance training and certification are preferred.
  • Experience with APIs, Services, iSeries, Web, and CRM applications, preferred.
  • Experience with open sources like Git, Jenkins, Docker, Selenium, Appium, TestNg, Maven, JMeter and Jira, preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and implement detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple projects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to:

  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
