Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the of the Engineer is to check, repair and service machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures at the Venetian Resorts.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Respond to maintenance calls in the casino, restaurants, pool, back of house and self-park garage at The Venetian Resort.
    • Promote the safety and well-being of external and internal guests and maintain the facility as directed by supervisor Engineers are the first responders to 402 Fire Alarms.
    • Maintenance of table games.
    • Maintain all property lighting.
    • Reset and secure all escalators and moving walkways.
    • Assist in the setup of special events for slots and table games.
    • Maintenance of executive and corporate offices, ballrooms, and meeting rooms
    • Troubleshoot complex maintenance problems and develop creative solutions. Performs maintenance duties as necessary.
    • Interface with contractors to ensure they are informed of property regulations, locations of utilities, and safety issues.
    • Attend and participate in all Safety training provided by the Facilities Department.
    • Evaluate information to repair, maintain, or modify a product or service.
    • Refine and/or modify systems, products, services and facilities for department or function.
    • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 4-6 years working on the job in electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and heating appliances required.
  • Ability to repair, enhance and modify a product, service, or system at property
  • Computer skills preferred.
  • Mathematical calculations for layout skills preferred.
  • Must demonstrate general maintenance skills, including knowledge using hand tools and electronic equipment, electrical, plumbing and lighting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
