Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Door Host - Nightlife is to control the admittance of guests during peak times, while upholding the standards of the venue.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Check identification of all guests entering venue
  • Maintain order and control the flow of queue at the door
  • Prioritize check-in for general admission, invited guests, and reserved tables appropriately
  • Identify individuals that do not meet the dress code and/or behavioral standards.
  • Provide accurate information about the venue and brand to guests
  • Greet and seat guests accordingly
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items and current specials
  • Encourage walk-up guests to reserve a table and purchase bottle service
  • Maintain cleanliness around the work location.
  • Consistently maintains a professional, well-groomed appearance, posture and hygiene in accordance with company standards and the theme of the venue.
  • Works in an appropriate non-hazardous manner avoiding self-injury and unsafe work methods.
  • Communicate with management, hosts and service staff to rectify any and all guest needs, comments or incidents.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a high end hotel casino or ultra-lounge environment preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health Card and an Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail while meeting business demands.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior guest service skills by presenting a friendly, relaxed demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
