Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Director of Information Technology is to lead and manage a staff of technical resources in the design, delivery and support of the data and telecom network (wired, wireless and telephony), firewall, proxy, telephony end-points, PBX and contact center.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and prioritize the allocation of work (projects and service requests) across the team and delivering them within the defined scope, schedule, and budget.
- Ensure all services are available to the end-user community at the agreed SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
- Ensure effective hand-off of technology solutions to IT Service Desk and Network Operations Center (NOC) for support.
- Ensure 24x7 staff coverage of all critical departmental services.
- Ensure incident response and resolution is achieved in accordance with defined Corporate Standards and departmental SOPs.
- Ensure responsible departmental technical environments are secured in accordance with defined Cyber and Corporate Standards.
- Ensure all responsible environment security vulnerabilities are remediated in accordance with defined Cyber and Corporate standards.
- Perform appropriate research and recommends next generation technologies for related department.
- Management responsibilities for the department include hiring of new Team Members, promotions, creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, discipline, recognition, and termination.
- Exercise staff oversight to ensure delivery, operations, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent with the overall company goals and objectives.
- Champion change and effectively manages the implementation of new ideas.
- Work cross-functionally with IT peers and business partners.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver and leverage departmental metrics, makes data driven decisions and takes appropriate corrective action to ensure continuous improvement is achieved.
- Define, executes, and reports on departmental multi-year strategy and roadmap.
- Help establish and build relationships with vendors in conjunction with corporate leadership.
- Oversee department IT-related purchasing and budget usage; works with corporate leadership and internal teams (e.g. Finance) to develop budgets.
- Effectively communicate relevant IT-related information to corporate leadership.
- Ensure department staff are well informed of changes and applicable events within the company.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related discipline or work experience equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 7+ Years of Experience in Information Technology.
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience as team leader of technical resources.
- 5 years of demonstrated experience with related technology platforms – Routing, Switching, Wireless, VPN, Load Balancing, PBX, Proxies and Firewalls.
- 3 years of working knowledge of key ITIL processes – Continuous Improvement, Change, Incident, Problem and Release Management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
