Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of this position is to administer general liability and automobile claims under Las Vegas Sands General Liability self- insured retention. This position also supports the Vice President of Global Risk Management and the Executive Director of Global Claims with various claim related assignments and operations. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Review incident reports and respond to guest phone calls and work with Guest Relations and Security Departments where applicable to negotiate settlements with guests that are within the boundaries of the insurance program, fair to the injured party and protects the balance sheet and reputation of LVS.
    • Provide support and respond to requests of the Vice – President Global Risk Management as needed.
    • Provide support to the Executive Director of Claims with guest or third party liability investigations, guest communications correspondence and reports as needed.
    • Process, file or distribute, all claims and insurance documents, correspondence and communicate via correspondence with all applicable VRC departments and vendors.
    • Maintain Claims database for accurate record keeping and the generation of accurate monthly, biannual and annual reports.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Speak to guests and other third parties
    • Work with Guest Relations and Security Departments
    • Negotiate settlements with guests and other third parties
    • Track all claims administration in LVS RMIS system
    • Support VP Global Risk Management and Executive Director of Claims as needed

 

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of general and auto liability claims handling experience
  • A working knowledge of Nevada innkeeper’s statutes along with an understanding of general and automobile liability insurance forms and coverages
  • Must be able to learn and use the LVS Risk Management Information System to adjust claims and maintain claims database tracking program for all claims
  • Must possess a personality that can work with third parties that may be unhappy or irate
  • The position exists in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
  • Maintain proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form
  • Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to LVS appearance standards
  • Maintain consistent adherence to the LVS Unmatched Guest Service Standards
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
