Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Manager – Nightlife Sales is to manage large group reservations to increase outlet revenue while providing unmatched service to all guests in every interaction. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer telephone, provide information and take messages as required.
  • Respond timely to incoming assigned leads and follow through on commitments.
  • Grow revenue by setting and negotiating beverage minimums based on guest requests, occupancy and yearly trends.
  • Assist the department to optimize both function profitability and guest satisfaction.
  • Understand the overall market competitors strengths and weaknesses, nightlife trends, supply and demand and how to sell against them.
  • Oversee and responsible for the arrival, event execution, and post execution activities for all private events at nightlife outlets.
  • Support private event logistics and activities, including but not limited to greeting guests, staff scheduling, amenities, phone or email communication with cross-functional departments i.e. Meeting Services, A/V, ISD etc.
  • Assist with arranging group and VIP amenities as needed.
  • Assist with billing inquiries and coordination as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with management and nightlife staff about upcoming reservations and private events.
  • Host and staff to rectify any and all customer needs, comments or incidents.
  • Make sound customer focused yet prudent financial decisions when offering compensation when service failures occur.
  • Coordinate staff and resources in high volume and time sensitive environments.
  • Maintain an open door policy and addresses all Team Member issues and/or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Manage effectively within the defined sales roles, internal sales processes and departmental/Company policies and procedures.
  • Engage with cross-functional departmental leaders and team to ensure successful bookings.
  • Document all pertinent daily sales activities and client information accurately as defined by department SOP’s.
  • Collect customer information for the venue database while constantly striving to increase and maintain the size of personal clientele.
  • Maintain highly confidential hotel, policy and team member information.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, hospitality, or related discipline preferred. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health Card, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) Card, Non-Gaming Card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 3 years of sales experience.
  • Experience in a high-end hotel casino or ultra-lounge environment preferred.
  • Strong Contract Negotiations Skills.
  • Strong Customer Relations Skills.
  • Strong Presentation Skills.
  • Strong Problem Solving and Critical Thinking Skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
