Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of Asst Manager - Nightlife is to manage operations of nightlife venues and to provide leadership needed to ensure world class lounge and nightclub experience.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of current information, including hotel occupancy, arrivals and departures; all liquor brands; characteristics and description of wines; specifications of glassware and garnishes; in-house groups.
  • Assist the Manager – Nightlife in day to day functions of the nightlife venue.
  • Manages assigned operational functions within the venue consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort.
  • Manages and monitors fiscal budget, operations of the venue and marketing strategies to produce both short term and long term profitability for The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort.
  • Manages the delivery and measurement of guest service within the venue consistent with the company’s core service standards and brand attributes.
  • Provides input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.
  • Manages Human Resources responsibilities for the venue to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; compliance with company policies, legal requirements.
  • Assists the Manager - Nightlife in planning, budgeting analysis, and reporting relating to the operation as well as controls account expenditures and obtains maximum utilization of account resources
  • Operate within the budget and identify new ways to improve the development of the business.
  • Develop short and long-term financial and operational plans in support of the overall objectives of the company, and monitor and maintain performance, and product and service quality
  • Advocate preventative maintenance and security functions that protect physical assets and personal safety of employees and customers
  • Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21+ years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM) and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 2-4 year degree in hospitality management or preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a Food and Beverage supervisor in a bar/nightclub environment.
  • Casino and luxury brand experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated client relations success is essential
  • Must be able to set clear objectives and manage time effectively
  • Ensure the highest quality service within each lounge.
  • Emphasis is on customer service and constant interaction with guests.
  • Can perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
  • Previous guest relations training.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
