Position Overview:

The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Front Office are to oversee the daily operations of the Front Office. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Must have a complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures and service standards.
    • Resolve escalated guest challenges, ensuring guest satisfaction.
    • Create, assign and monitor work duties.
    • Establish par levels of supplies and equipment.
    • Managing of schedules, leaves and staffing requests.
    • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas and overall office.
    • Develop and maintain ongoing training initiatives.
    • Recruit candidates who demonstrate Venetian and Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino core values.
  • Key Processes
    • Seek innovative ways to improve quality and continuously lift or maintain high service scores.
    • Review daily business levels and prepare for critical situations.
  • Financial
    • Ensure daily suite inventory is managed to ensure smooth check-ins for the day(s) ahead.
  • Leadership
    • Successfully manage a 5-Star Front Office Team.
    • Monitor team performance in all phases of service and job functions; rectify deficiencies.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21+ years of age
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.
  • Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years Front Desk Management experience working in a high-end property.
  • Prefer work experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel/resort.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Alcohol awareness card required or ability to obtain one.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.

  • Able to maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts
