Position Overview:

The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Director – Cocktail Collective is to oversee The Venetian Resort’s Nightlife venues and to provide the leadership needed to ensure world class Nightlife experiences.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Nightlife Managers and Assistant Managers to maximize financial results and guest experience in the Nightlife venues.
  • Create, implement and uphold brand and service standards in the Nightlife venues.
  • Manage and monitor financial performance and fiscal budgets for all Nightlife venues. Hold regular P&L meetings with Nightlife Managers and other key stakeholders to maximize results.
  • Establish challenging, realistic, and obtainable goals to guide service and performance.
  • Perform detailed financial and other ad hoc analysis and make actionable recommendations to drive results and improve performance.
  • Lead the onboarding process for Nightlife Management and Team Members.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis and keep up with the latest trends in the food and beverage industry.
  • Manage Nightlife business development initiatives.
  • Manage marketing, social media and PR plans as well as customer development.
  • Direct the Nightlife Management team in their efforts to drive incremental business to all Nightlife venues.
  • Operate within budgets and identify new ways to improve the business and drive results.
  • Ensure VCR’s competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the hospitality and gaming environment.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create a work environment in the Nightlife venues that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes; compliance with Company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist in all phases of planning, budgeting analysis, and reporting relating to the operation as well as controls account expenditures and obtains maximum utilization of account resources.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others.
  • Advocate sound financial and business decision making and demonstrate honesty and integrity.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with direct reports and the entire food and beverage team.
  • Set clear objectives and manage time effectively.

  • Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Company Standards of Conduct

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related discipline preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in Food and Beverage at a resort property.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration, Non-Gaming card, Heath card, Alcohol Awareness Card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset. 
  • Experience overseeing a portfolio of Nightlife brands preferred.
  • Strong background in food and beverage analytics, cost analysis and industry performance metrics.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal departments and external consultants to facilitate and drive results.
  • Operations management experience with purchasing knowledge.
  • Casino and luxury brand experience preferred.
  • Experience in setting management goals and conducting progress checks with direct reports.
  • Demonstrated client relations success.
  • Ability to manage and train a staff.  
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, posture and hygiene adhering to Company appearance standards.
  • Must be able to work with others, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other Team Members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
