Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Architect - IT Cloud is integrating business needs with cloud technology solutions to provide faster speed to market and reusable design. The Architect - IT Cloud is responsible for the development of enterprise cloud architecture strategy, cloud solution designs, standards, patterns, position papers and engagement reporting. Additional responsibilities include support for application architecture and deployment in cloud environments.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support and manage cloud environments (public, private, and hybrid).
  • Intake business requests and develop appropriate solutions leveraging reusable components where possible to ensure investment sustainability.
  • Perform regular reviews of proposed solution designs, vetting them against design patterns, defined technology standards, compliance requirements and best practices to ensure a reliable, secure solution is implemented.
  • Provide expert guidance to development teams regarding infrastructure and take responsibility for the IT environments throughout assigned project lifecycles.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a multicultural, multinational environment with both technical and non-technical business stakeholders, as well as executive level management.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate commercial products for functionality and the investment and resource requirements to utilize them in a solution.
  • Participate in developing strategies and technology roadmaps to standardize and automate delivery of IT services and initiatives.
  • Work with Compliance staff to identify areas of risk and mitigation plans regarding the master plan and roadmap.
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, budgeting and allocation, implementation, information security program development, and administration, including technical architecture design and technology assessment.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in technology preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 10 Years of relevant work experience in technology infrastructure / cloud related field.
  • Office365 architecture and integration experience required.
  • Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills.
  • Knowledgeable about the concepts and moving parts involved in continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Experience architecting solutions compliant with regulations such as: PCI, GLBA, SOX, Basel III.
  • Proficiency working in agile software development environments, continuous integration and deployment (CICD), and DevOps.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Expertise with integration architecture design and deployment (Enterprise Service Bus).
  • Familiar with cloud platform services and their orchestration including, but not limited to, Alibaba, Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. 
  • Familiar with container platforms and orchestration such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing identity strategies and application integrations including LDAP, Kerberos, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect.
  • Knowledge of secure coding best practices and security framework standards: NIST, COBIT, ISO.
  • Knowledge of software vulnerabilities testing and remediation (OWASP/SANS CWE).
  • Knowledge of UML modeling techniques and business process modeling.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
