Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Analyst I – IT Solution is to provide on-call and system support for applications, while working with business users and other key stakeholders to create system and software solutions. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides subject matter expertise for specific functions (e.g., Marketing) or configuration of specific systems (e.g., ADP payroll / Infinium) in The Venetian Resort application suite.
  • Collaborates with the Business Relationship Management team and provides subject matter expertise for determining business requirements to address business needs within a specific function.
  • Participates in the development of solutions that deliver the required functionality of the specified business requirements.
  • Develops functional and/or technical specifications for a specific application area from the business requirements.
  • Develops criteria to support developed solutions, including components of systems development and process improvement.
  • Engages in multiple activities simultaneously (i.e., application support, on call support, minor projects, subject matter expertise) within the specific application or functional area of expertise.
  • Works with users to define concepts for the business needs within a specific function.
  • Builds knowledge base of The Venetian Resort application suite.
  • Provides application and on call support for The Venetian Resort application suite within the specific application or functional area of expertise.
  • Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, and develop use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develops and delivers business and systems analysis documentation to include business requirements definition, functional requirements definition, technical requirements definition, and use case.
  • Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
  • Utilizes experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies.
  • Translates business requirements into functional and technical requirements.
  • Develops requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
  • Collaborates with developers to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Executes projects of short duration (typically 1 to 3 months), potentially under direction/guidance of Analyst III – IT Solution or a Project Manager (depending upon complexity).
  • Participates as a resource on major projects as requested based upon by specific application or business function expertise.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in Casino and hospitality application preferred.
  • Working knowledge of a specific application (e.g., ADP payroll / Infinium) or functional discipline (e.g., treasury).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • IIBA certification preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in business.
  • 1 year of experience in information technology or working with information technology professionals
  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis, with the ability to forecast implications and provide consultative recommendations and solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical and product management, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into business and systems requirements.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
