Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Analyst – Business is to work with stakeholders from all business and related third parties to partner, define, and document business processes and requirements for technology initiatives. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.

· Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.

· Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal partners to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: Functional requirements Business Requirements Document\, Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs.

· Utilize your experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required.

· Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

· Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of product/project managers


Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

· Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans

· Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

· Serves as the conduit between the business community (internal and external partners) and the software development team or vendor through which requirements flow.

· Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.

· Collaborate with developers, vendors, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

· Be the liaison between the business, technology teams and support teams.

· This role will collaborate with business partners, other IT team members, project teams and staff in various functional areas as needed to fulfill the responsibilities described above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Candidate with CCBA, CBAP or PMI-PBA certification will be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience in process mapping, business requirements analysis and documentation, data mapping and test planning.
  • Prior experience working with Hotel Operations business units is preferred.
  • Prior experience with Hotel Operations software applications such as LMS, Infogenesis, Micros and Simphony is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of database concepts and query tools.
  • Ability to confidently take on complex, high profile projects involving multiple systems, stakeholders, and project resources.
  • Ability to work independently and to effectively manage and execute multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Experience working on projects spanning multiple domains, and ability to handle new business domains effectively and with a high level of confidence.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
