Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Aircraft Technician is to ensure that timely and appropriate maintenance is provided for the assigned aircraft, to ensure safe operations and compliance with all FAA and aviation industry requirements. This includes all manufacturer-mandated repairs, as well as calendar and hourly maintenance needs. Ability to keep aircraft and work areas at the highest standards possible. 
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Sands Aviation, LLC policies, practices, and procedures.  

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Well versed in all facets of maintenance, from dealing with vendors and manufacturers, to documentation and installation of parts. Supervises assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan, the fiscal budget, and the company’s short-term and long-term profitability objectives.
  • Ensures compliances with all FAA, manufacturer, and aviation maintenance requirements. 
  • Launching and recovery of assigned aircraft. 
  • Supervises the delivery and measurement of guest service consistent with the company’s core services standards and brand attributes.
  • Perform pre and post flight inspections and clear any discrepancies found during the course of an inspection.
  • Perform maintenance and inspections in accordance with manufacturers approved methods and techniques.
  • Keep abreast of and maintain a current working knowledge of the procedures, parts and tools needed to perform maintenance and repair work on the company aircraft.
  • Comply with the manufacturer's technical data, FAR and applicable safety rules.
  • Be responsible for the strict adherence to the inspection system employed for assigned aircraft.
  • Ship, receive and inspect aircraft parts.
  • Providing emergency assistance to passengers, as necessary.
  • Supervision of refueling and checking of fuel and lubricants.
  • Baggage handling and compliance with aircraft baggage and cargo restrictions.
  • Performing aircraft maintenance as required.
  • Receive and stow catering materials.
  • Assist passengers during flight.
  • Assist the flight crew with ground and airborne duties, as requested.
  • Must have personal tools used in the performance of duties listed above.
  • Tools must be shadowed in a roll-away type of tool box for accountability purposes.
  • Adheres to the company’s philosophy; complies with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
     
Company Standards of Conduct

All Sands Aviation, LLC Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be in possession of a valid A&P Mechanic license.
  • Minimum 10 years Boeing/Airbus heavy line maintenance experience.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport.
  • Must have completed general familiarization training, avionics, and appropriate safety training for GIII, GIV, 737, 747, 767, BBJ and Airbus A340 aircraft, or applicable, relevant, specific, and quantifiable experience and skills.
  • Ability to perform maintenance duties away from base with limited resources.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods including international destinations, without restrictions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience. 
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

 

Physical Requirements
Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 30 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
