Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Administrative Assistant – Housekeeping is to perform administrative and secretarial duties for the Housekeeping department. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Screens and answers calls, types memos and letters, maintains files, takes minutes, and performs other administrative duties for the Housekeeping management team.  
  • Coordinates and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to established company guidelines. Establish workloads, assign tasks, and review results.
  • Coordinates and expedites the flow of work.
  • Monitors the organization's potential financial risk of projects assigned; compute, catalog, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Performs any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining project records or achieving desired results.
  • Develops, writes, and edits proposals.
  • Maintains adherence to planning, policies, and practices.
  • Oversees personnel while facilitating a specific project or assignment.
  • Processes related administrative details in order to keep department operational and effective while achieving results of projects assigned.
  • Possesses skills to expedite clerical processing, evaluate information, and implement or take action based upon information. Exercises discretion and judgment based on available information related to projects assigned.
  • Directs others in completion of a task or assignment. Renders advice to others, and provides expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, processed or reviewed.
  • Provides unmatched quest service to guests at all times.
  • Provides accurate directions and information for guest inquiries and is knowledgeable about all aspects of The Venetian and The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino services, features, attractions, promotions and special events.
  • Types letters, memorandums, reports, etc. Proofreads and verifies accuracy of all work produced using word processing or conventional means.
  • Receives and screens mail. Screens and answers telephone calls; refers inquiries to other areas of the company for the Housekeeping Department.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant in the hospitality industry required.
  • Working knowledge of communication and phone skills, PC and word processing, and typing speed of 50 words per minute.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
